The 2011 Girls Wrestling season was a huge success for Michigan Women’s Wrestling and Team Michigan. We traveled over 10,000 miles for tournaments and training. We had over 80 girls make All-American and 14 of them won National Championships. 5 girls that wrestled with us last year graduated and are now wrestling for a women’s college team and on some kind of scholarship. We had 12 girls become part of the US national team, 7 make it on to the Asics All-American team and three girls made the first team ( this is the highest award a high school wrestler can get). 3 girls traveled with Team USA for international competition, Rachel McFarland took 5th place at the Cadet World Championships in Hungary, Brittany Harvey wrestled in the Cadet Pan-Am Championships in Mexico, and Autumn Rux wrestled in the Canada Cup and placed third in Canada.
